Phonak Eterna hearing aid information
« on: January 26, 2010, 08:23:58 pm »
Here's some information on the Phonak Eterna hearing aid:

Eterna

A Phonak is for everyone

Based around our industry leading application of Digital Bionics, Eterna from Phonak has been crafted to address the unique communication requirements of adults.

To truly transform the current hearing landscape, a hearing system needs to offer a range of unique features that make it:

- Intuitive - by automatically adapting to sound environments and hearing needs
- Responsive - to ensure optimal speech understanding
- Smart - in terms of design and fitting

The complete Eterna product family – ranging from an elegantly-designed microBTE to a powerful BTE – comprises the right set of features to make it the most intuitive, responsive, and smart hearing system of its class.

Micro Eterna

Smart and invisible: micro-sized design and open fitting.

Adding to the cosmetic appeal of Eterna is the slim, modern housing for the behind-the-ear instruments. The small, ultra-slim, feather-light micro Eterna especially appeals to wearers’ wishes for discretion, comfort, and ease of use. With a cosmetically appealing micro tube for open fittings, micro Eterna virtually disappears behind the ear. micro Eterna also has the facility of a remote control to adjust volume and programs.

Its ultra discreet miniature casing and slim tube acoustic coupling ensures high levels of user acceptance as the complaints often associated with conventional fittings; low wearing comfort and ‘own-voice’ occlusion effects are removed.

ProPilot

Through its unique ProPilot automatic, Eterna offers three intuitive automatic programs plus the EasyPhone telephone program. The result is accurate analysis of the listening environment and the knowledge to adapt correctly.

Eterna seamlessly fades between its three fully independent automatic programs. For your clients, this means optimal audibility, intelligibility and comfort in key listening environments: quiet, speech in noise and noise only.

If required, you have the ability to fine tune each of Eterna’s automatic programs separately, to further meet your clients’ hearing needs and preferences. This includes a choice of signal processing strategy, designed to meet hearing preferences and previous processing experience.

EasyPhone

Using the telephone is now easier than ever, since Eterna will automatically switch to the EasyPhone program.

Fully dedicated to speech understanding on the phone, EasyPhone can be acoustic or a telecoil program.

Adaptive digital AudioZoom

Phonak is the pioneer of innovative multi-microphone technology. Today, it is still clearly established that well designed directional technology is the most effective way to enhance intelligibility in noisy environments.

The Eterna range features the proven adaptive digital AudioZoom. Automatically activated within ProPilot when appropriate, adaptive digital AudioZoom finds the location of disturbing noise sources. It then adapts the dual-microphone directionality accordingly, providing the optimal signal-to-noise-ratio. Fast-tracking
ensures that changing listening conditions or sources of background noise are suppressed quickly and effectively.

This responsiveness results in immediate reduction of background noise and enhanced speech clarity, even in challenging listening environments.

SoundCleaning

Immediate automatic reduction of background noise and enhanced speech clarity
Annoying sounds are reduced while speech and clarity are preserved
Comfortable listening without embarrassing feedback

SoundCleaning ensures hearing comfort and ease of listening. SoundCleaning includes the 16 channel Finescale. Noise Canceller and the digital Feedback Phase Inverter.

Hi Gabi,

Usually this is something that your audiologist is best carrying out - have you tried contacting them first?

Cheers.
