I hate my tinnitus!!!

Last year my tinnitus got much worse. In my right ear its at about 80db in loudness all day, the only thing louder is the shower or dishwasher. anyone with very loud T? How do you cope? The ent i saw said that with tinnitus like this most people don't cope. i have even had suicidal thoughts every so often!

Is a cure on the horizon? I've read lately that a lot of drug companies seem to be in a consensus about the area of the brain concerned and the reasons for the noise being generated it can only be a matter of time before one of them hits on the cure. Right?

Hi Tim, I'm not aware of any imminent announcements regarding tinnitus, unfortunately at the moment it is just a case of trying different things to alleviate the symptoms, the level you are suffering is pretty severe so I'm not sure how well the different methods might help.
