Causes of ringing in the ears
« on: December 10, 2009, 08:44:17 am »
There are many people suffering from tinnitus.  Tinnitus manifests as ringing, buzzing, clicking or other noises in the ears.  It is a condition that is very hard to live with. Tinnitus sufferers identify a wide variation of causes of ringing in ears.  And they are normally uncertain as to the real cause.

Here are some of the common causes of ringing in ears that are talked about and attributed to the onset of tinnitus:

1.    Loss of hearing.  The brain seems to want to turn up the volume to compensate for the range that is lost and since the nerves may be damaged this over compensation by the brain produces sharp sounds in the ears.

2.    Sinus related.  Some with chronic sinus condition attribute the tinnitus to this.  Some people say they are affected by air condition, thus pointing to a sinus related condition.

3.    Listening to loud sounds.  People that have listened to too many live bands many times suffer from tinnitus.  Constant ear phones and other very loud sounds such as the roar of a loud motorcycle engine in your ears may lead to tinnitus.

4.    Inner ear disorder.

5.    Circulatory problems, stress, depression.

Whatever the causes of ringing in ears, most people that suffer from tinnitus find this condition very hard to live with.  They find it usually gets worse laying in bed at night.   Also, focusing on the condition worsens it.  Some feel that they would rather have surgery which might make them deaf, rather than keep living with the noise in their heads.  Many people cry a lot over this condition.  They feel desperate and hopeless.

Living with tinnitus can change every aspect of your life.  Some become hermits, as they cannot stand going out and hearing noises.  Some people become so desperate they even get suicidal over this condition.  Even though it is not a serious disease, it can become severely serious emotionally.

The only effective treatment for tinnitus is to address the underlying cause of the condition that is producing these symptoms.  Your body is off balance and that is what needs to be looked at.  You have to address the root of the problem in order to stop it, and keep it from recurring.  A multi-level holistic plan is necessary to change the conditions in your body that need healing to stop the ringing in the ears.
