Will this ringing ever go away?
« on: August 03, 2010, 09:24:00 am »
Hi,

I am nearly 50 years of age and I have a very active social life e.g Pubs, Concerts etc, over the years (just like most other people).

My troubles started after attending a all nighter dance last year. The music was terribly loud, so I tried to keep a distance from the speakers. Several days later, I still had ringing in both my ears and a blocked feeling in them too.

After 2 weeks of suffering, I went to my GP. He adviced Steam for blocked tubes and anti-biotics for the ear infection. At first it didnt work, but now I'm on Beconase Aqueous Spray, and have been for the last three months.

Now my ears feel a lot better, and they are almost unblocked, but the ringing comes and goes maybe three times a week.
As a direct result, I've been suffering stress, muscle spasms and depression, which I hope will go away with time, but more so will the Ringing ever stop?

I'm assuming this is Tinnitus, right?

Thanks for your help

It appears to be tinnitus, but I would recommend you get it properly checked

Yes that's right and there might be more to it than just ringing in your ears! Please take a look at my blog at newbielink:http://dawnshearingnow.blogspot.com [nonactive] for more details. As stated by Deafness Research UK "This is an excellent blog!"

Hi Phil...

I do agree with CarolineShore...This blog really help you a lot.. Tinnitus is a ringing, swishing, or other type of noise that seems to originate in the ear or head and i think this link http://www.medicinenet.com/tinnitus/article.htm really help you to find the actual reaction in Tinnitus...I hope this will help you in resolving your problem....
