I need major help right now. My son is 10 years old and his teachers are making him wear a type of hearing aid, apparently because he has hearing problems. My son has never been tested well only once and a doctor never said anything about him needing one. he has no problems hearing at home and picking up on drums, (me playing something and him playing back) he can hear me and my gf when we are in the basement and he is upstairs, he has never once said he can't hear us. What could it be and what should i do?

Hi why don't you arrange a second opinion, an independent hearing test, that way it will confirm one way or the other whether your son has a hearing loss. It may be he has a temporary hearing loss, perhaps glue ear? It's very common in children.

Don't think that your son is only the one who suffering from this type of problem, there are many people all around the world dealing with the same type of problem, but getting to know the actual reason behind this, you should go to experienced audiologist and ask him to do an audiogram test for your son. It helps you to join the ranks of the people that are able to hear again and move on with their life in the best way they can.
